Kingfisher 30 (K-30)

Kingfisher 30 (K-30)

Description

The K 30 sailboat is the Kingfisher 30 (often abbreviated K-30 or K30), a classic British cruiser designed by R. A. "Dick" Carter and built by Westfield Marine (later Marine Construction Ltd.) in the UK from 1967 to 1978. It evolved in two main marks: Mk I (early hulls with twin keels and skeg rudder) and Mk II (1969–1978, full skeg rudder with shaft through aft cabin and extra plates on keels). It's known for solid fiberglass construction, good stability (twin keels for drying out), and comfortable cruising characteristics — a reliable family boat for coastal and short offshore use, with a reputation for being stiff and sea-kindly.
