Description
The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37.1 is a performance-oriented family cruiser designed by Jacques Fauroux and produced by Jeanneau from 1994 to 1997, as the first iteration in the Sun Odyssey 37 series (followed by the 37.2 in 1998-2000). At 37.4 feet LOA, it features a masthead sloop rig, fiberglass construction with balsa-cored decks, and a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protected, responsive handling in coastal or moderate offshore conditions. Praised for its spacious interior (sleeping up to 8), balanced sail plan, and value as a "sail-away" boat, it balances speed with comfort but is best for protected waters rather than heavy bluewater due to its moderate ballast. Around 200 units of the 37.1 were built, and it's a popular used choice for couples or families seeking a lively yet forgiving cruiser.
