Description
The Jeanneau Sun Legende 41, designed by Doug Peterson and launched in 1985, is a highly regarded performance cruiser that blends racer-cruiser speed with genuine long-distance comfort. At 41 ft LOA (12.48 m), 12 ft 4 in beam, and a moderate 6 ft 5 in fin-keel draft (shoal 5 ft 5 in option), she carries a tall fractional rig with 820 sq ft of working sail (mainsail 340 sq ft + 110 % genoa 480 sq ft), giving excellent light-air performance and the ability to hit 7–8 knots on a reach in 15 knots of breeze. Below, the interior is bright and airy thanks to large deck-saloon windows, offering a three-cabin/two-head layout (owner’s aft cabin with centerline queen, forward V-berth, and port guest double) finished in warm teak that sleeps six comfortably. Built to a high standard during Jeanneau’s “golden era,” the Sun Legende 41 earned praise for her balanced helm, solid construction (hand-laid fiberglass hull, balsa-cored deck), and seakindly motion; more than 600 were produced until 1991.
