Jeanneau Espace 990

Description

The Jeanneau Espace 990 is a pilothouse cruiser sailboat designed by Philippe Briand and produced by Jeanneau from 1985 to 1989. At 32.48 feet LOA, it's the smallest in the Espace series (preceding the 1000 and 1100), emphasizing all-weather protection via its enclosed wheelhouse, spacious accommodations for family cruising, and a balanced masthead sloop rig for coastal or moderate offshore passages. Built in fiberglass with wood trim, it features a fin keel with spade rudder (or optional keel/centerboard for shallow draft), offering quiet stability, a fast hull, and double cabins for up to 7 people. Around 100-150 units were built, and it's appreciated today as a robust, value-driven classic for cooler climates or extended weekends.
