Islander 27

Description

Overview The Islander 27 is a classic fiberglass cruiser-racer designed by Alan S. Pendell and built by Islander Yachts (later under Tradewind Yachts) from 1969 to 1972. With approximately 200–250 hulls produced, it was part of Islander Yachts' early lineup, emphasizing balanced performance for coastal cruising, club racing (PHRF ~180–200), and weekend overnights for 4–5. Featuring a fin keel with spade rudder for agile handling, a masthead sloop rig, and solid construction, it's known for its stiff ride (41% ballast ratio), neutral helm, and seaworthiness in moderate conditions—stiff in 20+ knots but requiring early reefing. 4100 lbs. Disp. 20' LWL. 8' Beam. 4' Draft.
