Description
The Island Packet 37 is a classic, full-keel cruising sailboat built by Island Packet Yachts, an American manufacturer renowned for its sturdy, bluewater-capable monohulls designed for long-distance voyaging. Introduced in 1986 and produced through 1994, the IP 37 was designed by founder Bob Johnson (Robert K. Johnson) to blend traditional styling with modern construction, offering exceptional seaworthiness, comfort, and safety. As an aft-cockpit sloop or optional cutter rig, it features a long full keel for stability and protection, a high ballast ratio for balance, and a spacious interior ideal for couples or small families on extended cruises. It’s CE Category A ocean-rated, suitable for coastal and offshore passages, including transoceanic voyages. The IP 37 was a cornerstone of Island Packet’s early success, bridging the gap between smaller models like the IP 31 and larger ones like the IP 38.
