Irwin Citation 41

Description

The Irwin 41 Citation is a fiberglass masthead sloop (with optional cutter rig) designed by naval architect Ted Irwin and built by Irwin Yachts from 1982 to 1984. Based directly on Ted Irwin's custom racing yacht Razzle Dazzle—which won the 1982 Southern Ocean Racing Conference (SORC)—this model was engineered as a racer-cruiser, blending high performance for club racing with comfortable accommodations for coastal and moderate offshore cruising. With a moderate displacement hull and options for deep fin keel or shoal draft, it's versatile for East Coast racing or Bahamas passages, offering lively upwind ability and stability for short-handed crews. Only four hulls were produced, making it one of Irwin's rarest models and a collector's item today. It's distinct from the non-Citation Irwin 41 (a blue water cruiser also from 1982), emphasizing speed over long-range comfort.
