Irwin Citation 31

Description

The Irwin Citation 31 is a fiberglass masthead sloop designed by naval architect Ted Irwin and built by Irwin Yachts from 1983 to 1987. Part of the "Citation" series aimed at budget-conscious buyers, it blends coastal cruising comfort with modest club racing potential, offering a spacious interior for its size despite its economy construction. With a beamier hull than many contemporaries, it feels roomy for weekend overnighters or short family trips on protected waters like the Chesapeake Bay. Production was limited to around 200-250 hulls, reflecting Irwin's focus on affordable, no-frills designs during a period of financial recovery.
