Irwin 45

Description

The Irwin 45 (1982–1985, ~40 built) is the rare, slightly stretched and ketch-rigged evolution of the successful Irwin 43 Mk III center-cockpit hull, offering palatial interior volume in a still-manageable 45-foot package. With an LOA of 45′6″, 37′6″ waterline, 13′6″ beam, 29–30,000 lb displacement, and a shoal 4′11″ Scheel keel carrying 11,000 lb encapsulated ballast, it pairs a very conservative ketch rig (≈950–970 sq ft, SA/D ~14.8) with one of the most livable layouts ever fitted into a production boat: a true walk-in aft owner’s stateroom with centerline queen and en-suite head, full-standing engine room/workshop, restaurant-sized U-shaped galley, raised saloon with panoramic visibility, and a proper forward guest stateroom with second head.
