Hylas 51
Description
The Hylas 51 (also known as the Hylas 49 Mk II in some markets) is a premium center-cockpit blue-water cruiser designed by German Frers and built by Queen Long Marine (Taiwan) for Hylas Yachts USA from 1992 to 2004. During this 12-year run, approximately 90–100 hulls were produced, making it one of the most successful Hylas models ever. It replaced the Hylas 47 and was itself replaced by the Hylas 54 in 2004. The 51 is widely regarded as the “sweet spot” in the classic Frers-Hylas range: significantly roomier than the 47, yet still agile and stiff, with a bullet-proof build, timeless lines, and one of the best aft-stateroom layouts ever put in a production 50-footer.
