Hunter Legend 36
Description
The Hunter Legend 36 is a classic American coastal cruising sloop designed by Glenn Henderson and built by Hunter Marine from 1989 to 1995, with approximately 200-250 hulls produced—marking it as a refined evolution of the earlier Hunter 36, tailored for European markets under the "Legend" branding to avoid confusion with British Hunters. This 36-foot masthead sloop emphasizes spacious accommodations, balanced performance, and shorthanded ease, featuring a full-bodied hull with a long fin keel (shoal or deep options) for stability in chop, a bowsprit for genoa reach, and a fractional-inspired rig with swept spreaders for responsive handling—ideal for family weekends, club racing, or light offshore passages in waters like the Baltic or Mediterranean. The aft cockpit comfortably seats 4-6 with secure coamings and a mainsheet arch for bimini support, while the teak-rich interior offers 6' headroom, sleeping 6-7 in 2- or 3-cabin layouts with a U-galley and en-suite head.
