Hunter 45CC
Description
The Hunter 45CC (Center Cockpit, built 2005–2011) is the direct successor to the highly successful Passage 450 and remains one of the most spacious, brightest, and easiest-to-sail 45-foot center-cockpit production cruisers ever built by Hunter Marine. Designed by Glenn Henderson, it measures 45 ft LOA (44 ft 2 in LWL) with a generous 14 ft 6 in beam and a moderate displacement of 22,937 lbs (10,400 lbs ballast). It was offered with either a shoal wing keel (5 ft 4 in) or deep fin (6 ft 6 in). It retains Hunter’s trademark backstay-less B&R rig with swept spreaders, a large in-mast furling mainsail (~450 sq ft) and 110% roller-furling genoa (total upwind ~950 sq ft), plus an optional reacher or asymmetrical spinnaker on a retractable carbon sprit—giving respectable performance (PHRF 108–120) while being exceptionally short-handed friendly. The raised center cockpit is huge, with twin helms, leather-wrapped wheels, a full walk-through transom with drop-down swim platform, arch-mounted traveler, and electric winches standard.
