Hunter 376
Description
The Hunter 376 (built 1996–1999, with roughly 250 hulls produced) is widely considered one of the best-looking and best-sailing Hunters of the 1990s Legend series, and a direct evolution of the highly successful Legend 37.5. Designed by the Hunter Design Team with input from the Swedish studio Design By C&C, it stretches 37 ft 6 in LOA (almost 39 ft including the sugar-scoop stern and bowsprit) with a generous 12 ft 7 in beam and a moderate displacement of 15,500 lbs (6,200 lbs ballast). It was offered with either a shoal-draft wing keel (4 ft 10 in) or a deeper bulb fin (6 ft 3 in). It retains the backstay-less B&R fractional rig with sharply swept spreaders, but carries a noticeably larger roachy fully battened mainsail (~390 sq ft) and 135–150% roller-furling genoa (total upwind ~820–860 sq ft), plus an optional asymmetrical spinnaker on a retractable carbon sprit—delivering genuinely quick performance for a cruising boat (PHRF typically 108–120).
