Hunter 34

Description

The Hunter 34 is a classic American recreational sailboat designed as a versatile coastal cruiser and racer-cruiser hybrid, blending performance with comfortable accommodations for family use. Designed by Cortland Steck, it was built by Hunter Marine (now Marlow-Hunter) in the United States from 1983 to 1987. During this 5-year production run, over 800 units were constructed, making it one of Hunter's most popular mid-1980s models and contributing to the company's reputation for high-volume, value-driven production boats. It's constructed of fiberglass with wood trim, featuring a moderate fin keel for balanced handling and a spade rudder for responsiveness. The design reflects the era's "Euro-style" influences with a sleek profile, wide side windows, and a focus on ease of handling.
