The Hinterhoeller 25 (also known as HR-25) is a classic fractional sloop designed by George Hinterhoeller as a slightly larger, more versatile evolution of his iconic Shark 24. Built starting in 1969 by Hinterhoeller Yachts Ltd. in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario (and later by C&C Yachts after the company's 1969 merger), it's a fin-keel racer-cruiser emphasizing speed, stability, and simplicity for club racing or coastal cruising. With a sleek hull, low freeboard, and responsive handling, it's renowned for punching above its weight in light to moderate winds, achieving hull speeds near 6.3 knots while remaining stiff in gusts (ballast/displacement ~43%). Only a limited number were produced (exact figures scarce, but fewer than 100 estimated), making it a sought-after classic today.
