The Hinckley Sou'wester 50 Yawl is a semi-custom offshore cruising yawl designed by H.R. Hinckley (based on the prototype William H. Tripp Jr.-designed Hinckley 48) and built by Henry R. Hinckley & Company in Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA. Produced from 1976 to 1986, 25 examples were constructed, offering a fiberglass hull with a keel/centerboard for draft versatility (5'9" up / 10' down), skeg-hung rudder, raked stem, and counter stern—emphasizing classic elegance, seaworthiness, and balanced heavy-weather performance via the yawl rig's reduced helm loads.
