Description
The Hinckley 43 (Hood) is a classic American offshore cruiser-racer sailboat designed by renowned yacht designer Ted Hood and built by the esteemed Henry R. Hinckley & Company in Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA. Introduced in 1976 as the Hinckley Hood 43, it was produced until 1981, with approximately 17 hulls completed, making it a scarce and coveted vintage vessel. This masthead sloop features a fiberglass hull with wood trim, a fixed fin keel paired with a retractable centerboard for versatile shallow-water access (4'4" draft up, 11'6" down), and a Bermuda rig optimized for both racing and long-distance cruising.
