Hinckley 41
Description
The Hinckley 41 is a classic offshore cruiser-racer sailboat designed by Henry R. Hinckley III (in collaboration with the Owens Cutter heritage) and built by Henry R. Hinckley & Company in Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA. Produced from 1964 to 1972, 27 examples were constructed, many in masthead sloop configuration with optional yawl rigs for balanced heavy-weather sailing. This fiberglass vessel features a fin keel, raked stem, and counter stern, emphasizing seaworthiness, speed, and timeless elegance with teak interiors (V-berth forward, saloon settees, galley, and nav station for 4–6). Derived from the wooden Owens Cutter of 1946, it's renowned for responsive handling, a moderate SA/D for versatile performance, and robust construction suited to bluewater passages. The high comfort ratio ensures stable motion, though vintage examples often require refits for rigging, engines, and systems.
