Hawkfarm Fractional Rig (Wylie 28FR)
Description
The Wylie 28 (officially known as the Hawkfarm 28) is a performance-oriented racer/cruiser designed by Tom Wylie (Wylie Design Group, San Francisco Bay Area). It was conceived as an IOR 1/2 Ton rule boat in the late 1970s. Approximately 32 hulls were built in fiberglass, primarily in 1977–1978, by small yards or semi-custom builders. The design features a fin keel with spade rudder, lightweight construction for its era, and good all-around sailing qualities that made it competitive in bay and coastal racing while remaining viable as a daysailer or short cruiser.
