Hartley TS-18

Hartley TS-18

Description

The Hartley TS-18 (also called Hartley 18 Trailer Sailer) is a classic Australian/New Zealand micro-cruiser from Richard Hartley's legendary TS series—the "big sister" to the iconic TS-16 and a proven garage-built plywood design that's been turning heads since the late 1960s for its perfect blend of family camping space, blistering performance, and bombproof simplicity. Far rarer than the thousands of TS-16s (likely under 500 built total), it's still actively raced and cruised through the Hartley TS18/21 Yacht Club of Victoria (hartleyyachtclub.org)—a tight-knit group that shares parts, measurement certs, and epic stories of weekend raids on Port Phillip Bay. Plans remain available (~$150 AUD) from hartley-boats.com for plywood/epoxy or GRP molding, with modern CNC kits cutting build time to ~500 hours.
