Harris 33
Description
The Harris 33 (also known as the Harris Trimaran 33 or Harris Eclipse 33 in some variants) is a rare, custom or semi-custom trimaran designed by pioneering multihull naval architect Robert B. Harris (1922–2012), best known for Sparkman & Stephens work, Maclear & Harris partnership, Vancouver series monohulls, and early catamaran/trimaran innovations like the Tiger Cat. Built sporadically from the 1970s–1980s (e.g., 1974 Eclipse, 1978 Hartley Harris, 1983 custom one-off), these are typically owner-completed or small-yard composite (fiberglass/epoxy/foam) vessels optimized for single-handed circumnavigation—rugged, stable, and fast for their era with fixed amas (no folding). No production run—most are one-offs or demountable designs; total built likely under 20.
