Hanse 400
Description
The Hanse 400 is a performance-oriented cruising sailboat produced by Hanse Yachts AG, a leading German yacht builder known for its "Easy Sailing" concept. Launched in 2006, it was designed by Judel/Vrolijk & Co., a naval architecture firm celebrated for its racing designs, including America’s Cup and Volvo Ocean Race yachts. The Hanse 400 blends speed, ease of handling, and spacious interiors, featuring a self-tacking jib, all lines led aft to twin helms, and a sleek, modern aesthetic with a plumb bow and wide beam. CE Category A ocean-rated, it’s suited for coastal cruising, offshore passages, or even competitive sailing, appealing to families, couples, or solo sailors. Production ran from 2006 to around 2012, with the Hanse 400e (epoxy version) offering a lighter, stiffer hull for enhanced performance. It was succeeded by models like the Hanse 415 but remains popular on the used market for its balance of performance, comfort, and value.
