Halman 21
Description
The Halman 21 is a Canadian-built fiberglass trailerable pocket cruiser, introduced in 1988 as an enhanced version of the Halman 20 (first built 1977), featuring a distinctive bowsprit for improved light-air performance and a more traditional "dressed-up" aesthetic. Manufactured by Halman Manufacturing Co. in Beamsville, Ontario (CEO Richard Navin), using new tooling derived from the similar Nordica 20/Nordic Halman 20 design—inspired by Scandinavian/North Sea double-enders for seaworthiness in rough conditions. Production ceased in the mid-1990s when the company closed; exact numbers built are unknown but low (likely under 200 total for 20/21 series), creating a dedicated cult following among trailer-sailors in Canada and the US. Designer is uncredited but often linked to the anonymous Nordic folkboat influences.
