Halman 20
Description
The Halman 20 is a legendary Canadian pocket cruiser — one of the toughest, most seaworthy 20-footers ever built in fiberglass. Launched in 1977 by Halman Manufacturing Co. in Beamsville, Ontario (founder/CEO Richard Navin), it was produced until the company closed in the mid-1990s. Total production: ~150–180 hulls (exact numbers lost), making it genuinely rare and highly prized today. Designed as a modern tribute to Scandinavian double-enders (think Folkboat, but beefed up for Great Lakes and North Atlantic conditions), the Halman 20 earned a cult reputation for surviving storms that shredded larger boats. Owners have crossed the Atlantic twice (notably Tinkerbelle-style by Robert Manry’s spiritual heirs) and regularly cruise the Labrador coast, Alaska’s Inside Passage, and the Great Loop.
