Hallberg Rassy 42F

Hallberg Rassy 42F

Description

The Hallberg-Rassy 42F (commonly abbreviated HR 42F) was designed by renowned Argentine naval architect Germán Frers and built by Hallberg-Rassy in Ellös, Sweden, from 1990/1991 to 2001 in a total of 181 hulls. It evolved in two main versions: the Mk I (1990–1994, 53 units, with a conventional transom and no swim platform) and the Mk II (1994–2001, 128 units, featuring an integrated swim platform and developed transom, while retaining the same hull shape, sail plan, and engine). This center-cockpit cruising yacht combines elegant Frers lines with Hallberg-Rassy's signature hand-laid fiberglass construction (solid hull, balsa-cored deck), teak joinery, exceptional seaworthiness (CE Category A for unlimited ocean voyages), and comfortable liveaboard features like a spacious one-level interior sole, good ventilation, and a protected cockpit with windscreen.
