Haida 26
Description
The Haida 26 is a classic Canadian fiberglass (with some wood-epoxy builds) pocket cruiser-racer designed by Raymond Richards in 1965, built primarily by Philbrook's Boatyard in Victoria, BC, with a smaller run from Mayhew & Strutt in Ontario. Only about 50–60 were produced through the late 1960s/early 1970s, making it a rare, cult-favorite daysailer/weekender with a loyal following in the Pacific Northwest and Great Lakes. Named after the indigenous Haida people, it draws from Richards' experience with seaworthy West Coast designs-simple, sturdy, and forgiving for solo or family use.
