The Gulfstar 36 Ketch TW CAB (Twin Cabin) is a robust, center-cockpit motorsailer variant of the Gulfstar 36 line, designed by V.S. Lazzara (or Richard C. Lazzara) and built by Gulfstar Yachts (founded by Vince Lazzara) in Florida, USA, primarily in the early 1970s (around 1971–1973 for the MS Twin Cabin models), with limited production overall—not built in great numbers, as few as a handful to low dozens across configurations, making it quite rare today. This ketch-rigged version emphasizes comfortable, long-distance cruising and liveaboard potential with its spacious twin-cabin layout (large aft cabin with en-suite head, forward V-berth, full salon/galley/dinette amidships, and often two heads), powerful auxiliary diesel for motoring efficiency, and seaworthy hull suited for coastal or extended passages rather than high-performance racing—offering a stable, forgiving ride with good motion in a seaway.
