Grand Soleil 40
Description
The Grand Soleil 40 refers to the current/modern Grand Soleil 40 (also marketed as GS 40) from Grand Soleil Yachts (Cantiere del Pardo, Italy). Introduced around 2020–2022 and designed by Massimo Paperini (with input from others like Matteo Polli in some references), it's the entry-level model in their Performance range—building on the brand's heritage of blending Italian elegance, high-quality construction, and competitive cruiser-racer performance. It draws inspiration from successful siblings like the GS 44 (ORC World Champion) and emphasizes versatility: fast in light airs, easy short-handed sailing (self-tacking jib standard), comfortable accommodations, and strong racing potential (e.g., ORC/IRC optimized options).
