Description

The Gloucester 23 is a classic trailerable sailboat designed by Mark Lindsay and produced by Gloucester Yachts from 1983 to 1987, with around 200 units built, featuring a fiberglass hull with a sleek, low-profile deck and a ballast/displacement ratio of 45% for solid stability in coastal or lake sailing. At 22 feet 10 inches LOA with a beam of 7 feet 10 inches and a displacement of 2,800 pounds, it offers a shoal draft of 2 feet 4 inches with a centerboard (up) or 4 feet 4 inches (down), making it versatile for beaching or exploring shallow waters while towing easily behind a standard vehicle. Its fractional sloop rig supports a sail area of 258 square feet, delivering a sail area/displacement ratio of 17.1 for responsive performance in light to moderate winds, complemented by a spacious cockpit for four adults and a compact V-berth cabin sleeping two for overnight adventures.
