Gartside Tomales Bay One-Design "Jessie" #113

Description

The Tomales Bay One-Design "Jessie" Design #113 is a 15-foot lapstrake-inspired sloop by Paul Gartside, created as a one-design racer and daysailer for the protected waters of California's Tomales Bay. Commissioned to match the classic lines and performance of the local fleet while incorporating modern glued construction for durability and ease of maintenance, it's a nimble, responsive boat that rewards skilled helmsmen with speed and stability in breezes up to 15 knots. Ideal for club racing or family outings with 2-3 aboard, it emphasizes traditional aesthetics—sharp sheer, wineglass transom—without the upkeep of full clinker planking. The original "Jessie" (now renamed "Wren") was built in 2009 and relocated from California to Maine, inspiring a small class of replicas.
