Fuji 35 Ketch
Description
The Fuji 35 is a classic 34'6" (10.5 m) heavy-displacement cruising sailboat designed by renowned naval architect John G. Alden (design #1029) and built by Fuji Yacht Builders Ltd. in Yokosuka, Japan, from 1973 to 1982, with approximately 128 hulls produced to impeccable standards using solid hand-laid fiberglass construction, encapsulated iron ballast, and exquisite teak joinery that remains a hallmark of its enduring appeal. Featuring an elegant clipper bow, modified full keel with cutaway forefoot for enhanced maneuverability, and a staysail ketch or cutter rig with a modest 624 sq ft (58 m²) sail area, it excels in offshore passages with a high displacement/length ratio of 327–413, providing exceptional stability, stiffness, and self-steering ability while tracking well in heavy weather
