Freedom 32 (30/32)

Description

The Freedom 32 (also marketed as Freedom 30/32 with optional swim platform) is a pioneering American cruiser from Freedom Yachts, introduced in 1983 as a transitional "cat sloop" blending Garry Hoyt's unstayed carbon-fiber mast with a self-tending jib for ultimate short-handed ease—designed by Hoyt himself (early models) or Gary Mull (later evolutions under Tillotson-Pearson). Built 1983–1986 (~90 hulls total, including ~126 combined 30/32), it's a cult favorite for solo/coastal/offshore cruising thanks to no standing rigging (zero tuning/replacement hassles), wraparound sails optional, and a "gun mount" spinnaker.
