Fraser 41
Description
The Fraser 41 is a classic, heavy-displacement bluewater cruiser designed by William Garden (the Canadian naval architect known for robust, seaworthy designs like the Force series, Fast Passage, and many other passage-makers). It was built primarily by Fraser Yachts (or associated Taiwanese yards like Ta Yang or Hudson) in the late 1970s to early 1980s, with a limited production run (estimates 20–40 hulls total, making it quite rare today). The Fraser 41 is essentially a variant or close sister to the William Garden Force 50/51 series—sharing the same designer’s DNA with a long keel (or modified full keel), skeg-hung rudder, cutter or ketch rig options, and emphasis on safety, comfort, and ocean capability. It’s often described as a “go-anywhere” yacht with excellent motion comfort, dry cockpit, and spacious teak interior (multiple cabins, large galley, enclosed pilothouse elements in some layouts). It’s not a lightweight racer but a tank-like cruiser—proven in long passages (some have circumnavigated or crossed oceans).
