Fliptail

Fliptail

Description

The Fliptail is a family of ultra-portable, folding dinghies designed by Gavin Atkin (Wooden Widget) and introduced around 2005, emphasizing quick assembly, lightweight construction, and versatility for rowers, sailors, and small outboard users. Available in 6', 7', and 9' models, it's a pram-style tender with a unique hinged-hoop frame covered in PVC fabric, allowing it to collapse into a flat, storable package—ideal for yacht deck storage, apartment living, or bike-towing adventures. Plans are widely available for DIY builders, with a sailing rig option transforming it into a capable pocket sailboat for ponds, harbors, or light coastal use.
