F-27

Description

The F-27 (also known as the Corsair F-27 or Farrier F-27) is the most successful and iconic trailerable folding trimaran ever built. Designed by Ian Farrier and produced by Corsair Marine from 1985 to 1997, it launched the modern multihull revolution with over 700 hulls delivered—more than any other trimaran of its size. Launched as a “sport cruiser”, the F-27 combined blistering speed (20+ knots routine), one-person rigging, road-legal trailering, and surprising comfort for 2–4 people. It was the first production boat to use Farrier’s patented folding system, carbon rotating mast, and foam-core construction at scale. In 2025, 40-year-old F-27s still win races, cross oceans, and dominate PHRF fleets. It remains the gold standard for performance, value, and fun—often called “the Porsche 911 of sailboats.” Renowned for its innovative design, it was inducted into the American Sailboat Hall of Fame in 2004 for its impact on multihull sailing, offering performance, trailer ability, and versatility.

Custom sail calculations are not possible for this boat as no I, J, P and E dimensions are available.
