Express 35
Description
The Express 35 is a high-performance, one-design racer-cruiser designed by Carl Schumacher in 1985 and built by Alsberg Brothers Boatworks (Santa Cruz, CA) from 1986 to 1988. This 35 ft fractional sloop was created as a "bigger, more comfortable Express 34"—retaining the planning speed and balanced helm of its sibling while adding interior volume and offshore capability. The sail plan to the left is actually the Express 34 -- there is no on-line image for the 35. Only ~15–20 hulls were produced before Alsberg closed in 1988, making it one of the rarest models in the Express line.
