Description
The Evelyn 32 Tall Rig (also listed as Evelyn 32 Tall or the tall mast variant of the Evelyn 32-2) is an optional higher-performance configuration of the standard Evelyn 32 designed by Bob Evelyn. It features a taller fractional sloop rig for increased sail area, better light-air power, and potentially improved PHRF/IMS ratings in certain fleets (though it might rate slightly higher/faster than the standard rig in some handicaps). This variant was available on some hulls during the 1983–1985 production run (Formula Yachts/C&C builds), appealing to racers wanting more horsepower without changing the hull/keel setup. The tall rig maintains the boat's core strengths: lightweight displacement for excellent acceleration and planing, responsive handling, and club-racing prowess (often PHRF ~93–105 range, depending on config and local fleet).
