The Evelyn 26 (also known as Evelyn 26 OD for "One Design" or racing-oriented versions) is a light-displacement racer-cruiser sailboat designed by Bob Evelyn (Robert Evelyn) of Formula Yachts (Groton, Connecticut, USA) and introduced around 1980. It was built in fiberglass with a fin keel and transom-hung (outboard) rudder, emphasizing speed, upwind pointing, and fun performance for club racing, MORC (Midget Ocean Racing Club) competition, or spirited coastal daysailing/cruising. The boat is renowned for its fractional sloop rig (with a large, powerful mainsail on a bendy mast featuring adjustable backstay, cunningham, vang, and tweakers), generous sail plan relative to weight, wide beam for stability, and ability to plane or reach quickly in breeze while remaining controllable in light air or up to 30+ knots.
