Ericson 46
Description
The Ericson 46 is Bruce King’s ultimate production design—a 46-foot flush-deck sloop built by Ericson Yachts from 1971 to 1976 during the height of the IOR racing era. Only ~30 hulls were ever produced, making it one of the rarest and most coveted Ericsons. Conceived as a bluewater racer-cruiser, it combined King’s signature elegance with massive sail power, exceptional stability, and ocean-proven seaworthiness. Owners describe it as “a 50-footer in a 46-foot package”—fast enough to win races, yet capable of crossing oceans in comfort. “The E46 doesn’t just carry you across the Pacific—it dances there.” – Sailing Magazine, 1974 review
