Ericson 30+ (9.1 Meter)
Description
The Ericson 9.1 Meter (also known as the Ericson 30+) is a performance-oriented fiberglass sailboat designed by Bruce King and built by Ericson Yachts from 1976 to 1980, with approximately 130 units produced. An evolution of the Ericson 30, it features a wide-beam fin keel hull, spade rudder, raked stem, and reverse transom for enhanced stability and speed under the International Offshore Rule (IOR). Equipped with a diesel inboard (typically Universal Atomic 4 or Yanmar), wheel steering, and optional tall rig, it's celebrated for its agile handling, spacious cockpit, and competitive racing pedigree—winning the 1976 One-Ton Cup—while offering cruiser comforts. Comparable to the Ericson 29's versatility but with greater beam and power, it's ideal for club racing and coastal passages, blending Bruce King's elegant lines with Ericson's production quality.
