Endurance 40 Cutter Ketch

Description

The Endurance 40 is a heavy-displacement, blue water cruising sailboat designed by Peter Ibold and built by Belliure S.A. in Mallorca, Spain, from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. Inspired by traditional Norwegian double-enders, it features a pilothouse layout for all-weather protection and versatility in rigs, including the popular cutter ketch configuration—combining a cutter-rigged main mast forward with a shorter mizzen aft of the rudder for balanced sail handling and self-steering qualities. With approximately 20–30 units produced, the Endurance 40 emphasizes seaworthiness, stability, and spacious accommodations for long-range voyages, making it ideal for couples or small families tackling trade winds or high-latitude passages.
