Description

The Endurance 35 Cutter is a robust, bluewater-capable cruising sailboat designed by Peter Ibold (Peter A. Ibold) in the early 1970s, originally developed as a winning entry in an international competition for an all-weather offshore cruiser suitable for small crews and long-distance passages. It features a heavy-displacement, long keel hull for excellent tracking, stability, and seakindliness in heavy weather, with a center cockpit (often with pilothouse variations) for protection and spacious accommodations including berths for 5–7, a full head, galley, and saloon ideal for liveaboard use. The design is highly versatile, built in materials like fiberglass (GRP), steel, ferro-cement, wood, and aluminum by amateur homebuilders and professional yards (e.g., Dekleer Brothers Ltd. in Canada, Vicente Belliure in Spain, Windboats Ltd. in the UK, Tweed Fibreglass, and others), with hundreds constructed overall across variants.
