Elite 45 Standard Rig

Elite 45 Standard Rig

Description

The Elite 45 Standard Rig sailboat is a high-performance masthead sloop designed by renowned yacht designer Ron Holland (Canada/New Zealand) and built by Kirié in France around 1986. This larger sibling to models like the Elite 37 features fiberglass (GRP) construction, a fin keel with spade rudder, and was marketed as a fast cruiser-racer with notable racing success, including winning the 1986 Route du Rhum in the standard boat category (also known as Feeling 1350 in some European markets). It offers a spacious interior for offshore cruising, good stability, and responsive handling, with a reported sail area emphasizing performance in varied conditions; a taller racing rig variant was also available with increased sail area (up to ~1,238 sq ft). Production was limited during the mid-1980s, with exact quantities built not widely documented.
