Description
The Elite 30 S Tall Rig (also known as Kirié Elite 30 Tall Rig or Elite 30 Tall Rig) is the tall-rig variant of the French Elite 30, a performance-oriented cruiser/racer designed by Philippe Briand and built by Kirié (later Jeanneau/Kirié) in France from 1983 to 1987. Approximately 150–200 hulls were produced across all Elite 30 variants (with the tall rig being a popular option for competitive club racing or owners seeking more power in moderate/light conditions), featuring a sleek, narrow-beam fiberglass hull with a fin keel and spade rudder, a fractional sloop rig optimized for enhanced upwind speed and light-air efficiency, and a comfortable interior for 4–6 people (V-berth forward, saloon settees, galley, enclosed head). The boat is celebrated for its lively sailing characteristics, good stability, and forgiving nature in a compact, trailerable package suitable for coastal cruising, club racing, or family outings — a timeless French design that influenced many later performance cruisers.
