Elite 30 R Tal Rig
Description
The Elite 30 R Tall Rig (also known as Elite 30 Tall Rig or Kirié Elite 30 Tall Rig) is the tall-rig variant of the French Elite 30, a performance-oriented cruiser/racer designed by Philippe Briand and built by Kirié (later Jeanneau/Kirié) in France from 1983 to 1987. The "R" typically denotes the racing or tall rig configuration (with a taller mast and slightly increased sail area compared to the standard rig), which enhances light-air performance and upwind speed while retaining the boat's excellent stability, balanced helm, and forgiving nature. The Elite 30 series was produced in approximately 150–200 hulls total, with the tall-rig version being a popular option for competitive club racing or owners wanting more power in moderate conditions. It features a sleek, narrow-beam fiberglass hull, fractional sloop rig, fin keel with spade rudder, and a functional interior for 4–6 people (V-berth forward, saloon settees, galley, enclosed head).
