Elan 31 (J&J)
Description
The Elan 31 is a sleek, performance-oriented cruiser-racer sailboat designed by Rob Humphreys and built by Elan Yachts in Begunje na Gorenjskem, Slovenia, from 2002 to around 2008. With approximately 100 units produced, it's renowned for its elegant low-shearline hull, responsive handling, and versatile appeal to both racers and cruisers. Evolving from Elan's successful 333 model, it strikes a balance between speed (SA/D ~18–20 for lively performance) and comfort, making it ideal for club racing, coastal passages, or family weekends. CE Category A ocean-rated, it's a "fleet-footed" design with high-aspect keel and rudder for precise control, often praised as one of Elan's prettiest and most rewarding models—timeless despite its age.
