Dufour 31
Description
The Dufour 31 is a classic French cruising sailboat designed by Michel Dufour and built by Dufour Yachts in La Rochelle, France. Introduced in 1973, it quickly became one of the yard's best-sellers, with over 900 units produced until around 1982. This model exemplifies early Dufour innovation: a clipper bow for a distinctive aesthetic, a spacious interior for its era, and balanced performance suited for family cruising or club racing. It's a masthead sloop with a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder, emphasizing ease of handling and seaworthiness over outright speed. Not to be confused with the later Dufour 3800 (also marketed as Dufour 31 Frers in some regions, designed by German Frers starting in 1980).
