Drascombe Lugger
Description
The Drascombe Lugger is a classic British trailerable sailing dinghy designed by John Watkinson and first built in 1968 by Honnor Marine in Devon, UK. As the inaugural model of the iconic Drascombe range, it embodies the brand's ethos of versatile, seaworthy "waterbirds" inspired by traditional fishing boats, combining simplicity, ruggedness, and adaptability for family sailing, rowing, or motoring in sheltered waters, tidal estuaries, or coastal bays. With over 2,000 units produced (primarily in fiberglass, with early wooden versions), it's the most popular Drascombe design, renowned for its forgiving handling, beach-launching ease, and distinctive gunter yawl rig.
