D 5 Dinghy
Description
The D5 Dinghy is a simple, versatile pram-style tender designed by François Vivier for Bateau.com, introduced in the early 2000s as an easy-to-build, multi-purpose small boat. It's a plans-only or kit-based project using plywood-epoxy stitch-and-glue construction, optimized for use as a yacht tender, standalone daysailer, or rowboat. Based on a reliable Caribbean pram from years past, the D5 emphasizes practicality for long-range cruisers: lightweight for deck storage, stable for chop, and easy to launch/retrieve. Over hundreds of units have been built worldwide by amateur builders.
