Cygnus 20

Description

The Cygnus 20 (also known as the Cygnus or sometimes referenced as HR-20/Cygnus in older contexts) is a classic Canadian trailerable daysailer/racer designed by George Hinterhoeller (of Hinterhoeller Yachts fame, known for Nonsuch and Shark designs). Introduced in 1963, it was produced in fiberglass by Hinterhoeller and later builders through the 1970s/1980s. It's a lightweight, simple, and fun one-design-style dinghy popular in the Great Lakes region (including Ontario and nearby US waters), with a reputation for excellent performance in moderate winds, easy handling, and versatility as a club racer, family daysailer, or cartoppable boat.
